How do I perform a traceroute?
From windows:

  1. Click Start -> Run
  2. Type "cmd" or "command" in the run box
  3. In the new window, type "tracert yourdomain.com", where yourdomain.com is the domain name of the site being tracerouted.
  4. The traceroute will begin.
Once the traceroute has completed, you can copy the results to the clipboard by right clicking, selecting Mark, and highlighting the text you want to save. Right click again to save the text to the clipboard.

An alternative method is:

  1. Click Start -> Run
  2. Type "cmd" or "command" in the run box
  3. In the new window, type "tracert yourdomain.com > c:\traceroute.txt", where yourdomain.com is the domain name of the site being tracerouted.
This will save the traceroute in C:\traceroute.txt which can then be opened using notepad or a similar text editor.
